The cinders you left behind scar my broken heart
Each day seems like I should carry myself
With no desination to be reached
Why must I drift through the spaces of your memory
Why must I feel that nothing makes sense without you
You planned the greater moments of life
Yet you pull them from beneath my feet
Why must a part of you remain in each tear
I’ve moved on yet the slight resemblance of your
presence haunts the dreams I want to have
When will you fall out of my life
With each new interaction of a relationship
You tantalize the thought of failure
With the cinders you left behind
May the wind carry them to the far reaches
Of the universe
Never to be felt again
Farwell to you S. G.
