As we found fire, farming, and civilization

The luxury to think freely and ponder questions of the universe

Now in a only a few generations, this great migration will occur again

Only this time in the capacity of thought thanks to AI and the internet

Free the space to think further while AI and IoT create an ease to push mental boundaries

Earth, a burden of retribution

Never knowing which side to take

Everyone wanting to be heard, no one listening

Means of all, crushed by infidelity and mistrust

The starving, a thirst never to be quenched

Actions, selfish and repugnant

Hope, a waste of time

Living, a cost and a constraint

We take what we cannot give

We are stagnant when we should move

We are volatile when we should be calm

Our thoughts are not our own

Yet we endure what should never be

A moment in time is a glimpse of a breath

With each breath a passing lifetime

Laying here feeling the intensity

The skin reacting with every breath

The darting of the eyes looking for an excuse

Reasoning looking for a cause

The heart pounding, looking to break free

The tingle in the nerves, wanting to shatter

Extremities going numb

Rushing blood wanting to escape

The need to run , far away

With nothing to fight, all is fierce

Trapped yet unwilling to be moved

The nightmare with pass

Seek thorough a window

Breach the windows glass

Venture out into the world

The world seems unjustified

Every turn is a wildfire

Every gear in motion, life seems fake

Is there anything in this reality that is real?

The blue sky and its limit

The dirt covered in grass

The trees enveloped in green

Everything but this breath is not real

Authenticity has left this world

We can run and hide but it is useless

I’ve tried to use the corners of my room

The walls will not subside the pain

I could distract myself from reality

I could take a pill to postpone

I could drown it in nicotine

But nothing in this life is certain

Yet, this resolution I seek will be found

On this day or the next

If this is meant to be my end

Forgive me, as I have forgiven

Remember me, carry me into the sun

Remember me, the laughter we had

Remember me, the times that were good

Remember me, the times that were not

Remember me, for all I have had

Remember me, for all I gave

Remember the little things, the big things

For all this remember me

We carry the demons with us

We know the transgressions, seen them, heard them, felt them

We know that everyone has their cracks, the flaws

The guilt, the pain, the terror, only known to us

We feel where the shadow lurks

To be at the bottom of the filth

We know if we let go, nothing changes

There is no hope

For I am the shadow that lurks

Carrying the demons we all hide

Our tears culminate the tears of our past, our trauma, our pain and fear, our experience. There is so much a tear can hold, the emotions escape through every drop.
